Chris Bramwell

Director

Chris started in the AV industry over 30 years ago and has a strong technical and managerial background. Starting out as a show technician his acumen and aptitude led to him becoming a project manager followed by general manager at Gearhouse. In 2008 he became director of Aventeq which led up to his present role as director of Protec European Events. When not at the Protec helm Chris, a music lover, can be found reliving his youth at 80’s festivals or entertaining family and friends at one of his famous BBQs.

Fraser McCaig

Senior Account Manager

Fraser has had a lifelong career in the audio visual industry and is passionate about his role with Protec. He manages ten varied accounts and enjoys the challenge of taking client’s ideas and realising them using a technical solution that will work on site. Fraser likes seeing the process through from conception, planning and project management, to going on site to see the job happen as envisioned.

Fraser’s decades of experience across numerous venues has built him up a wide range of clients covering production companies, associations, and exhibition organisers. This invaluable experience and variety keeps him interested and creative as no two jobs are the same. As well as being a committed professional, Fraser is also deeply committed to Coventry Rugby Club and can often be spotted on Saturday afternoons in the state of the art 3000 seater stadium known as Butts Park Arena.

Jason Strange

Business Development

With over 30 years experience in the industry, Jason Strange brings a wealth of knowledge to Protec. Starting out as an AV technician with Viewplan UK he has a strong technical background. He moved into project management and senior management roles after a few years and has worked for some impressive blue chip clients. Jason has gained invaluable global experience having spent time in Dubai and Australia working on large scale events. He spent 8 years with Protec in Dubai before setting up his own scenic company in 2008. After over 25 years working around the world, Jason decided to move his family back to the UK and join Protec European Events. Jason’s industry experience, friendly personality and enthusiasm for large events make him a great asset to the Protec business development team and to our clients.

Jane Lawrence

Account Manager

Jane started in the events industry in 2008 as a business development manager. As she has progressed through the industry she has added different skill sets to her role. With her experience and industry knowledge she maximises Protec’s potential to be a total solution partner for all elements of an event. Her areas of expertise include event and delegate management, venue finding, as well as account management. Jane is passionate about her role and loves the variety and dynamism as no two days are the same. She loves the process of seeing an event through from its inception to its execution and being wholly involved in delivering a successful event.

Glenn Richardson

Account Manager

Straight out of his Audio Systems degree Glenn began working in the audio visual industry as a driver and technician. Over the past decade he gained valuable experience working in London and the Midlands in a variety of technical roles continuing to learn and progress along the way. Glenn brought his knowledge and skills to Protec in 2013 and used them to progress up to a project manager position. His keen eye for detail and passion for delivering extraordinary events makes him a great asset for Protec and our clients. When not working, this foodie enjoys his family time with his wife and son, practising his cooking skills and playing guitar.

Wayne Jackson

Account Manager

Wayne started off in the AV industry at the tender age of 17 as a venue apprentice and progressed up the ladder to technical manager. He has been a project manager for 12 years and continues to work with very loyal corporate clients which are a testimony to his professionalism. When not too busy his interests include rugby, motorbikes, mountain biking and the occasional one or two responsible beers with friends.

Simon King

Account Manager

Simon started in the industry in 1981 as a theatre technician. Over the past three decades he has built up a strong international understanding of events having worked worldwide on tour as a sound engineer, stage manager and production manager. This seasoned, well-travelled professional ensures projects are delivered above and beyond expectation.

Chris Cheatle

Hire coordinator

Chris has been in the AV industry since 1987 learning the business thoroughly in roles such as show technician, operations technician, hire co-ordinator, hire manager, project manager and operations manager. He has worked on shows with some iconic business names such as Fiat, HSBC, and Ford to name but a few and his broad experience has seen him working on exhibitions, roadshows, conferences, launch ceremonies, awards ceremonies, sports events and venue production support. Chris is a proud family man and enjoys spending time with them. He is also very target driven both in and out of work as his pastimes include shooting and archery. To add to his expansive range of skills Chris is a qualified coach and photographer.

Debbie Mulcahy

Financial Controller

Debbie has been the financial controller for Protec European Events for 6 years. She has brought professionalism and a wealth of experience to her role. Debbie finds the role interesting and challenging, but mostly rewarding. She enjoys working with a team who she says are “professional and hardworking given any challenge”.

Amanda Bardell

Accounts Assistant

Amanda brings her passion for numbers, attention to detail, and sharp eye for accuracy to the Protec team as our accounts assistant. With over 10 years’ experience in her field, Amanda provides professional and reliable administrative support to the Protec accounts department and works directly for the financial controller. Speaking of her two years’ experience with Protec, Amanda shows her enthusiasm for her position and her team:

Samantha Jordan

Visual Designer

Samantha is a versatile designer. Initially a self-taught illustrator, she then progressed to attaining a degree from Coventry University in Interior Design where she learned many aspects of design including an introduction to architecture. During her last year of university she gained valuable industry experience working at an exhibition company learning the basics of realistic workflow and the use of materials. After graduating, Samantha then took on the challenge of working for a much larger exhibition company and worked alone on projects for a year learning how to plan accordingly. She has also built experience working as part of a team and brings her creativity and experience now to Protec and our clients. Not one to shy away from goals both professionally and personally Samantha takes an active interest in contact sports such as Muay Thai, MMA and boxing and is hoping to soon start competing in local events. So, with this skillset she also serves as a security detail for the Protec guys on site.

Nick Jones

Warehouse Manager

Nick has over 20 years’ experience in the AV industry beginning as an operations technician before moving onwards to an operations supervisor and then a logistics supervisor. Here at Protec, Nick is the warehouse manager and is committed to ensuring our resources are the highest quality and to an exceptional standard and are delivered on time. Making sure projects go out on time, and are complete and correct gives Nick great job satisfaction.

Senior Warehouse Technician

Andy is a second generation Audio Visual professional. He started out working for his father, went on to become a Driver, then a Technician, and is now our Operations Supervisor here at Aventeq.

Sean Godefroy

Head of Video

Sean has 15 years’ experience in the industry. His career spans production, corporate events and festivals. With experience working in the UK and in the Middle East for the Dubai branch of Protec, Sean brings the international skill set and knowledge back to Protec European Events.

Ben Waters

Head of Audio

Ben is our Head of Audio at Protec. He comes with a wealth of diverse experience working with high end FTSE 100 clients at corporate events to music festivals and tours. Ben earned a first class degree in Music Technology from the University of Huddersfield so he brings both an academic and a technical mind to the Protec team. Ben enjoys an active outdoors lifestyle. He particularly likes swimming and when he’s not keeping fit he likes to spend his free time playing guitar at church.

James Bramwell

Head of Set and Staging Department

James joined Protec in 2009 and heads up the set and stage department. A skilled craftsman, James takes great pride in his work. His keen eye for detail ensures the sets are of an exceptionally high specification. James likes to keep active through football and also enjoys going fishing at the weekend.

Thomas Bramwell

Set & Stage Technician

Tom started with Protec in 2016 on our apprenticeship scheme. Through this programme he learnt all of the basic disciplines within the AV industry. Now as a full-time employee Tom is specialising in the set and stage department but also enjoys working as a general technician. Sports fan Tom can be found playing rugby for Earlsdon on the 1st team and is also an avid gamer in his spare time.

Nathan Telford

Set & Stage Technician

Nathan joined the Protec team in 2015 as a set and stage technician. Nathan brought a wealth of experience with him from his previous role as an upholsterer and CNC machine operator. This lends more skill diversity to the set department enabling Protec to deliver more creative staging and set solutions. Nathan keeps active by chasing his two year old son about and when he gets the opportunity, he enjoys football and fishing.

Aaron Bell

Technician

With Protec since 2017, Aaron has brought his 10 years’ AV experience to the team. Working his way up over the years from a junior warehouse technician to a senior technician, Aaron has a deep understanding of the industry from the bottom up.

Aaron is involved with the management of the venues we service as well as being part of the larger shows.

Ashely Pringle

Show Technician

Ashley is a Senior Show Technician at Protec. He specialised in sound after starting out with a general background in 2014 with Protec. He is also partial to working in the lighting and video departments but sound is his passion.

The strong silent type, Ashley likes to spend his free time fishing and in the gym.
