Since it’s first event back in 2009, BodyPower Expo has grown into the most celebrated and comprehensive fitness event in the UK - inspiring and motivating more than 70,000 health and fitness enthusiasts who make their way to the NEC in Birmingham, from over 100 countries.

The mecca for muscle knows no bounds. This year the event trended on twitter for 3 straight days and attracted some of the world’s biggest action and bodybuilding stars such as Hulk Hogan, Jay Cutler and Phil Heath.

BodyPower has developed into a staple event for the international fitness market covering the full spectrum of products, services and athletes. The expo provides a premier visitor experience, an extensive exhibition, interactive feature areas and live national competitions. BodyPower also welcomes trade delegates to the ever-popular Industry and Preview Day, hosting thousands of industry delegates for a day of networking and education.

Expanding over 5 halls, this year’s expo included 2 main stages, a kickboxing ring, a beach body area, a live cook-along, and countless exhibitor stands. The 2015 expo also marked the first time that BodyPower have teamed up with Aventeq for AV services.

Aventeq, who are based just a stones throw from the NEC in Solihull, are aware of the demands placed by exhibitors and guests at prestigious events such as BodyPower. Having provided immersive event solutions for a variety of clients such as Etihad Airways, Haven Holidays and the Wasps Rugby Union Team, Aventeq seeks to blend innovation with reliability.

The project involved designing, building, and providing sound and lighting on a main stage that would be the focal point of the expo and host the key speakers. As well as providing AV and staging in other areas of the expo, Aventeq also provided technical support, set & stage design and build, Video Screens, Sound Systems, and a wide range of equipment for exhibitors.


This included the following key components:

2 x Sony HXC 100 & 2 x Sony HVR Z5E cameras
4 x Analog Way PLS350 3G switchers

62 loudspeakers spread over 16 areas including Nexo and D&B Audio
Yamaha QL5 and LS9 digital audio desks
30 channels of Sennheiser radio microphones

Avolites Pearl lighting desks
40 units of Thomas Pixel Line and Pixel Smart LED lights
10 x Clay Paky A.LEDA B-EYE K10 moving lights
20 x Clay Paky Alpha Wash and Alpha Spot HPE300 moving lights

180 decks of staging
7 stages ranging from 300mm high to 1200mm high

80 set panels ranging from 8 feet high to 14 feet high
