The Association for Residential Letting Agent's (ARLA) annual Conference is the UK's largest and most prestigious lettings forum for the private rental industry. The popularity of the conference is reflected in the rise in delegate numbers, reaching capacity audiences for the last three consecutive years.
In order to accommodate the demand for places and to expand the exhibition, the event was held for the first time this year at ExCeL London and as a result the conference attendance was increased by 30%. The nation's biggest lettings conference and exhibition welcomed speakers that included Housing Minister Brandon Lewis, entrepreneur Deborah Meaden and journalist and former Cabinet Minister Michael Portillo.
Aventeq were once again chosen to provide a wide range of technology that included two Christie 14k HD projectors projecting onto 16' x 9' borderless screens and for sound a Yamaha QL5 digital mixing console with Nexo M6 line array ensured complete audio coverage across the room for all 865 delegates. Two JVC GY-HM890CHE video cameras one with a Fujinon HA42x lens provided live pictures to the screens and were recorded onto Blackmagic Hyperdecks. The set was 33m wide x 4.2m high with four feature LED light columns built in and all of this was designed & built by Aventeq. In the exhibition hall Aventeq provided audio visual support for a seminar theatre and 10 exhibition stands.
The ARLA conference has adopted an innovative way of interacting with the large audience by utilising a 'Twitter' style facility for questions. All audience questions were sent via Sli.do to a moderator who filtered and forwarded the most relevant comments to the chairperson, Julian Worricker. Guest speakers were then able to discuss the answers on stage.
"It has been a pleasure to include Aventeq in our team for producing ARLA Conference 2016." comments Caroline Prescot, Events Director for Hertfordshire based Westrade Group. "This is our third year of working together and we had complete confidence in Aventeq's ability to deliver a bigger event with more sophisticated equipment, while at the same time keeping an eye on the budget."
Aventeq Account Manager Fraser McCaig added: "The Platinum Suites at Excel are ideal for a conference of this scale with the availability of rigging points throughout the room to help us maximise the projection, sound and lighting. In this room we had to think big which meant using forty 4.2m high panels to create the set design".
